The Salt Lake Temple, a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is located on Temple Square not far from the Utah State Capitol.
It was dedicated in 1893 and is the largest LDS temple by floor area with 23,015 square feet.
Considered sacred by the church, a temple recommend is required to enter.
The architecture, with both Gothic and Romanesque elements, is quite clean and undecorated.
The sandstone fascades, like many LDS temples, provide a bright surface that emphasizes its religious nature.
The window and other vertical elements are strong and, for the most part, beautifully simple.
